Task Guidance

This task relates to the recommendation letter drafting and collection process.

Please read the steps below carefully so you understand how it works and what is needed from you at each stage.

  • Step 1: You complete the recommender chart. You provide us with your list of recommended letter writers by filling out the recommender chart in the portal. For each person, include: their full name, title, employer, LinkedIn profile, their relationship to you, and the specific contribution or achievement they can speak to.
  • Step 2: Your attorney drafts the letters. Based on the information you provide, your legal team will write the recommendation letters on your behalf. You do NOT need to write the letters yourself—that is our job.
  • Step 3: We send the drafts to you for review. Once the letters are drafted, we will share them with you. Please review each letter carefully to make sure the facts are accurate and the content reflects your work correctly. Let us know if anything needs to be adjusted.
  • Step 4: Once approved, you send the letters to your recommenders for signature. After you have reviewed and approved the drafts, you will forward each letter to the corresponding recommender. The recommender reviews the letter, and if they are comfortable with the content, they sign it on their official institutional or company letterhead and return the signed copy to you. You can use this template if you'd like.
  • Step 5: You upload the signed letters to the portal. Once you receive the signed letters back from your recommenders, upload them here.
  • Note: If they cannot place their letter on company letterhead, the letter must include contact information including: email, phone, and address.

Strong letters are used as supporting evidence to demonstrate either your contributions to your field and/or your critical roles at the companies where you have previously worked.
